The Story of Anchor Magazine...
anchor_cover_small.jpgBorn of a desire to reach out to people suffering the anguish of depressive disorders, the publisher, CEO, and founder of Magpie Media / Publishing Inc., Bill MacPhee, saw his vision become reality as Anchor: "Conquering Depression" rolled off the presses in March 2008.

Statistics indicate that nearly 10% of  adults are affected by clinical or major depression in any given year. These statistics don't even include the ever-increasing number of adolescents, many of whom are never even diagnosed as having depressive disorders. And unlike normal emotional experiences of sadness or moodiness, serious depression is persistent and significantly interfers with people's thoughts, behavior, mood, activities, and health.

Our hope is that Anchor: "Conquering Depression" will become North America’s most widely recognized and trusted provider of depression information. Our aim is to offer help, hope, and happiness to an audience of readers suffering from depressive disorders, their families, caregivers, health care professionals, and anyone interested in sound mental health.
